When did we start feeling so guilty for taking a break? Why do we think rest is a sign of weakness, of not wanting it enough, of not being good enough?

I set myself quite a few goals and challenges in 2018 - running was by far the most successful. And that got me thinking. What was it about this goal that made it so successful? Kelly McGonigal’s TED Talk has had more than 10 million views. I love her perspective on the benefits of stress and how we can make friends with stress — it certainly doesn’t seem to be going anywhere fast.

This type of stress is often referred to as eustress (as opposed to distress — the bad kind) — I say often, I only came across the word while researching this post.
